Pimple scars

Pimple scars are one of the most common aesthetic complaints presented by young patients. Many of them have very bad pimples outbreak when they are much younger, and as a result of it, the skin heals with many scars. The most common scars are flat pigmented scars. They resemble red and brown patches on the face and are a result of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). The same occurs when young children develops brown scars on their lower limbs when they get lots of mosquito bites. Most of these PIH scars can be treated with a combination of lightening creams, chemical peels and pigment Click to read more

Mother’s day talk at ONE°15 Marina Club

At the registration table

On Mother's day, I was invited to hold a sharing session with a group of ladies at Bar Nebula, ONE°15 Marina Club, Singapore. My topic for the day was on Skin Rejuvenation. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the view the venue has to offer. Bar Nebula has full view of the row of private yachts docked by the waters. We were very impressed; I think it would be an ideal venue for a small birthday party or a wedding solemnisation ceremony.   Before the session, my colleague, Shirley and myself were enjoying a cup of coffee And the two of us with a close-up Click to read more

Hair removal – laser or IPL?

05/05/2016 by Dr Donna Chow Leave a Comment
Laser or IPL hair removal

Many often, patients ask me this question – what is the difference between IPL and laser treatment? Why do some salons offer IPL hair removal for such low prices and clinics offer laser treatment at much higher prices? Before we answer this question – we need to understand what is the difference between the two. IPL stands for intense pulsed light. It uses a lamp to emit light energy in different wavelength to treat a lot of things. Think of it as a Jack of all trades. For the case of the hair, it uses light energy to heat up the hair follicles which in turn destroys the hair. Because IPL is Click to read more

My clarinet version of our NDP song by Kit Chan. Finally reunited with my clarinet after being apart for nearly a quarter of a century.
Pardon me for my rusty skills. Decided to pick it up again during the circuit breaker period.

Attached with the full lyrics:

Home - Kit Chan
Whenever I am feeling low
I look around me and I know
There's a place that will stay within me
Wherever I may choose to go
I will always recall the city
Know every street and shore
Sail down the river which brings us life
Winding through my Singapore
This is home truly, where I know I must be
Where my dreams wait for me, where the river always flows
This is home surely, as my senses tell me
This is where I won't be alone, for this is where I know it's home
When there are troubles to go through
We'll find a way to start anew
There is comfort in the knowledge
That home's about its people too
So we'll build our dreams together
Just like we've done before
Just like the river which brings us life
There'll always be Singapore
This is home truly, where I know I must be
Where my dreams wait for me, where the river always flows
This is home surely, as my senses tell me
This is where I won't be alone, for this is where I know it's home
This is home truly, where I know I must be
Where my dreams wait for me, where the river always flows
This is home surely, as my senses tell me
This is where I won't be alone, for this is where I know it's home
For this is where I know it's home
For this is where I know I'm home
