I bought my cat to see one of the so called specialists there, it was a bad experience too. I doubt that doctor has the necessary knowledge in cataract surgery, the info i received was outdated. Even my cat’s eye pressure was up to 50 that doctor did not prescribe any eye drops or warned us about that… we were glad we found a better vet at the end…

Hi Dr Donna, My dog , max suffered almost the same fate as Ah Bee, when the doctor did not give us an update on him and failed to update us that the test kit was out of stock prior to admission. They made him stayed for another night in the hospital with such bad conditions , did not provide us any single update until we called the hospital twice. When we sent him in, we could see that the nurses were so rough towards him. He looked at us with sadness thinking that we were going to abandon him… Read more »

I’m really sorry for your loss and Ah Bee’s harrowing experience at the hospital. I couldn’t imagine being in your shoes at all. Too painful. But I could very well believe that it happened exactly the way you described it. I also had really bad experience with that same hospital. And my dog did subsequently passed away in the middle of treatment. What they said they would do vs. what they actually did were two different things. Because of that, I was weary of getting my other dog’s cataract surgery done there by their GP “with an interest in ophthalmology”.… Read more »

Sorry for your loss. My dog suffered the same issue under mount pleasant too, and I was highly recommended to do the surgery because my dog is young, and the success rate will be 97%. I wanted to go for one eye, but Dr.”Suay” was very confident and recommended I get my dog both eyes done so that he can have a clearer vision. I wished I had googled a bit more because there are so many failed cataract cases from MP. Their surgery follow up service is weak, and they accidentally removed one of the critical medications which caused… Read more »

12 years..that is a old dog. As dogs age just like humans. They will develop old age problems or health problems along the way.
Just like humans as they age they should receive more extended care and specific care.
This poor dog however got the opposite…
Not from the owners but from people who were supposed to be trained to care for pets. I feel really sorry for your loss and I don’t think this is acceptable at all. I hope you will get your break through with the authorities soon.
