A story of The Three Muttsketeers

After many months of preparation and hard work, my first children’s book titled “The Three Muttsketeers” is ready for the shelves! It is not without trepidation as I venture into this book project with a lot of naysayers telling me that self publishing is not an easy task. I have forwarded my manuscripts to countless illustrators … [Read more…]

Baby's first cruise

Recently, we bought cruise tickets for Royal Carribean – Mariner of the Seas and sailed in mid October. This is baby’s first cruise, and our first cruise with Royal Carribean as well. In the past, we have sailed with Superstar cruises, which has been around for many years. After hearing positive reviews on Royal Carribean, we … [Read more…]

Happy without a maid

Happy without a maid

Not too long ago, I wrote a post on surviving 25 days without a domestic helper. Little would I have known that barely 2 months after the arrival of my third domestic helper, I would be without a maid again. Perhaps I have exceedingly high expectations of the roles and duties of a domestic helper. I … [Read more…]

The Terrible Two

The little man in swim suit

Recently, Ah Boy, as what we have affectionately called him, has been showing signs of The Terrible Two. He is no longer the baby who give us no trouble and sits quietly to play his “car car” in the baby cot. One fine night, he attempted a circus stunt and fell head long onto the floor because he refused … [Read more…]

And took some photos with the Sesame Street characters

Last month, we had a weekend staycation at Sentosa to celebrate my birthday. It was a good time to refresh, rejuvenate and to recharge ourselves, and to visit the places which we wanted to see; The Underwater World (which will cease operations on 26 Jun 2016), Trick Eye museum and Universal Studios at Resort World … [Read more…]

Raise glasses

In my earlier post on Bringing Baby to Perth, I mentioned about baby’s first trip to Club Med Bintan. We travelled there for a short holiday in February for Valentine’s day weekend. The short getaway is just what we need – a  family trip to enjoy bonding with baby, eat great food and relax by the sea. Just … [Read more…]

Surviving 25 maid free days

Me versus all the housework chores

Recently, I sent my Indonesian helper back to her home country. So we are left with all the household chores to ourselves for 25 days until the next one arrives. The fear of not being able to cope with everything is very real – especially when we have a lived-in domestic helper for the past 1 year since … [Read more…]

We attended his graduation ceremony, watch him collect his scroll on stage and perform with the rest of his classmates. 铭哲长大了!
We had a short getaway at Koh Samui during the school holidays. In this video, we did go-karting, went on dolphin cruise, sea snorkeling, fed the elephants and had roof riding for the first time.
We ventured to the Bhutan - Land of Happiness - to seek answers to a good life. In this video, we visited notable monasteries in Bhutan, sampled local cuisine, did fruit picking, took part in white water rafting at the rapids, trekked to Tiger's Nest Monastery and enjoyed a hot stone bath.
I will give you a tour of my backyard and the edibles I grow in my garden.

This includes a papaya tree planted in a pot, watermelon plant with baby fruits, my crop of cabbage, my lime plant, chilli padi plants, cherry tomato plants, popular herbs such as rosemary, sweet basil and mint.

Not to forget my hardy sweet potato leaves which I harvest weekly to cook sambal chilli with.

Maintaining an edible garden can be both hard work and fun.
