17/02/2023 by Dr Donna Chow 1 Comment

They were inspired after playing the flight simulator on Nintendo, and were always eyeing … [Read more…]

Mindon on his second birthday

I haven’t posted for a while. Not since Ah Bee’s 10th birthday celebration – on which we ordered a custom birthday cake for him. For the past 4 weeks, there seems to be a renewed interest in home baking as a lot of us (myself included) have more free time on our hands. Therefore, I … [Read more…]

10 golden years

In the blink of an eye, Ah Bee is now officially 10 years old. If you have owned a dog, you would probably know that one year of a dog’s life is almost equivalent to 7 years of human’s life. That would mean that our dear Bee, whom we have raised since he was a … [Read more…]

My second breastfeeding journey

My trusty Spectra S1 and Boppy nursing pillow

When my first son was born, my milk supply was extremely low and I struggled to pump breast milk for him. Breast feeding does not come naturally to me. Not everyone is blessed with abundant breast milk supply and has surplus milk to store in the freezer. As a friend puts in aptly; God has … [Read more…]

Shopping for new baby

As a first time mum 3 years ago, I was completely overwhelmed with shopping for baby #1. I sourced for checklists online and bought “almost” everything I could find. And I was so worried about missing out anything. But now, with #2, I have become more chilled and relaxed about shopping, especially when my first … [Read more…]

Home made black bean soup

I have been wanting to cook some healthy Chinese soup lately and looking at various online recipes for ideas. The soup which we got from our tingkat delivery has been rather bland and diluted – it is as if they poured in lots of water to make more volume. So I came across this black bean … [Read more…]

We attended his graduation ceremony, watch him collect his scroll on stage and perform with the rest of his classmates. 铭哲长大了!
We had a short getaway at Koh Samui during the school holidays. In this video, we did go-karting, went on dolphin cruise, sea snorkeling, fed the elephants and had roof riding for the first time.
We ventured to the Bhutan - Land of Happiness - to seek answers to a good life. In this video, we visited notable monasteries in Bhutan, sampled local cuisine, did fruit picking, took part in white water rafting at the rapids, trekked to Tiger's Nest Monastery and enjoyed a hot stone bath.
I will give you a tour of my backyard and the edibles I grow in my garden.

This includes a papaya tree planted in a pot, watermelon plant with baby fruits, my crop of cabbage, my lime plant, chilli padi plants, cherry tomato plants, popular herbs such as rosemary, sweet basil and mint.

Not to forget my hardy sweet potato leaves which I harvest weekly to cook sambal chilli with.

Maintaining an edible garden can be both hard work and fun.
